This just might be my new favorite plate. It always makes me sad when I realize that sleep time is over and I have to get out of my warm, comfy bed. I am definitely not one of those people that wakes up all bright eyed and bushy tailed, and it takes a lot for me to get moving. For some reason, my love for sleep gets even deeper in the summer, probably because the heat is sucking the life out of me. The last week has been especially hard to get up in the morning and I've been snoozing even longer than usual. I figured that since I have a long summer of not wanting to wake up ahead of me, I would use this as this week's plate theme.
When I finally do get out of bed, this is how I think I look so this is a self portrait. I usually feel like a zombie for the first hour or so or until I get coffee in my system and/or take a long shower.
I enjoyed making this plate so much that it has inspired an entire new series of projects that I'm going to start working on. I have always used a lot of skulls in my art, and now I'm going to add zombies. Stay tuned to see them!
